Audio Conferencing Questions

Can a moderator use Vanity PINs?

Yes, a Moderator can pick PINs of his/her choice for the moderator and the participants.

Does the Moderator have to be in attendance for a conference call to begin?

The Moderator can set up a call with ‘Moderator required’ option. The call will only get connected after the moderator joins the call and enters his/her PIN.

Can the system display the loudest speaker?

Yes, the system shows ‘green color’ against the name of the speaker who is the loudest speaker at any given instant.

Can the system display the names of all participants in a conference?

Yes, typically the systems with ISDN PRI receive the caller ID (or ANI) of the calling party. If the incoming caller ID is associated with a user in the system database, then system will automatically locate the corresponding name and display it on the Real View.

How does DNIS based conference room selection work?

Customers can obtain a block of DID numbers from the phone company. When a new call comes in, the system will receive the ‘dialed number’ via CAS E&M Wink Start or ISDN PRI signaling interface. The system then can place people directly into a conference room without requiring people to enter any PINs. This feature can be used to create ‘hoot and holler’ conferences.
