Homeland Security
Different types of emergency situations occur every day - some man made (terrorist attack, hijacking, industrial accidents, etc.) and some by nature (flood, earth quake etc.). When handling any of these types of emergency situations personnel from multiple agencies get involved. XOP Networks has pioneered the use of its conferencing technologies for greatly improving communications between the 'First Responders' when facing an emergency situation.
XOP Networks Group Alerting and Conference Server (GACS) supports 'Enhanced Firebar' application that' is specially tailored for crisis management. The system allows proactive creation of emergency specific call out lists (e.g., terrorist attack, gas leak etc.) via a web portal. In the event of an emergency, the bridge can be used to simultaneously dial-out to all members of a specific group, find them using the built-in 'find-me' capability and bring them together onto a conference call in less than a minute.
The multi-model system can send alerts as voice calls, SMS text messages, Pagers, Instant Messages or screen pop on all computers. Depending on the situation as hand, each messaging mode can be used individually or all of them can be used simultaneously.
