We are pleased to be able to assist Consolidated's network transition with our Universal Service Node. We developed the capability to connect to both legacy TDM networks and next generation VoIP/SIP networks for network transitions just like Consolidated is doing
Plano, Texas (PRWEB) January 16, 2009
XOP Networks, Inc., a manufacturer of Value Added Service platforms that provide Voice Mail, Mass Notification, Audio Conferencing, Web Conferencing, Enhanced Firebar, Hoot and Holler and other applications, announced today that Consolidated Telephone, an Independent Telephone Company in central Nebraska has deployed XOP Networks' Universal Service Node (USN) platform as part of Consolidated's network migration from TDM towards VoIP. Consolidated Telephone offers a number of services including local telephone service, cable television, business telephone systems, and Internet to its customers.
Consolidated Telephone is aggressively transitioning its telephone network from TDM network based on Mitel GX5000 switches to next generation packet based access network platforms and Metaswitch soft switches. Consolidated Telephone met the challenge of providing Voice Mail service to customers on the TDM network and on the VoIP network simultaneously by deploying XOP Network's Universal Service Node platform. A unique aspect of USN is its support of multiple Message Waiting Indication (MWI) types. The Consolidated Telephone network requires MWI using inband MF signaling over T1s towards the GX5000s and SIP based Message Waiting Indication towards the Metaswitch softswitch. A similar transition can also be accomplished with legacy switches that support standard SMDI based Message Waiting Indication.
"We have had a number of challenges in transitioning to a next generation network without inconveniencing our customers. The XOP Network's Universal Service Node is enabling us to give our customers uninterrupted Voice Mail service as we transition our network," said Chuck Fast, Vice President, Consolidated Telephone.
"We are pleased to be able to assist Consolidated's network transition with our Universal Service Node. We developed the capability to connect to both legacy TDM networks and next generation VoIP/SIP networks for network transitions just like Consolidated is doing," added Doug Jacobs, VP Sales and Marketing for XOP Networks.
About XOP Networks Beginning in 2003, XOP Networks embarked on developing a next generation IP based service and application platform. Realizing this vision, we shipped our first product, a Digital Collaboration Bridge (DCB) in 2004. A DCB combines rich Audio Conferencing with Desktop sharing, Application sharing and White boarding, thus creating a collaborative experience for the end users.
Leveraging the success of the DCB, the product portfolio was expanded in 2005 to include the Group Alerting and Conferencing Server (GACS). The GACS allows mass notification messages to be dispatched over a variety of communications networks, while it brings an organization's brain trust into a quick audio conference. Year 2006 saw the addition of the enhanced Voice Mail Server (VMS) to the product line. In 2007 XOP Networks launched its Universal Service Node (USN) which offers multiple value added services on one platform. Flexibility of our product's architecture allows us to quickly customize our solutions to fit the needs of our customers.
Headquartered in Plano, Texas at 5508 West Plano Parkway XOP Networks was founded in 2002 and is backed by a seasoned management team. Deployed at multiple Fortune 100 companies and CLEC/IOC customers, XOP Networks' products allow customers to improve employee productivity, increase business efficiency and promote business continuity. Having both legacy and VoIP interfaces, XOP products allow customers to seamlessly transition their value added services from legacy circuit switched networks to VoIP based packet switched networks.
