XOP Networks, Inc., a developer of advanced emergency communication equipment and Audio Conference Bridges, announced availability of its Dial-out Firebar Conference Application on a VMware based virtual server.
Server virtualization based on VMware and Xen Server is becoming common place. Large and small enterprises and government organizations are leveraging this technology to reduce the number of physical servers which in turn helps in reducing the carbon footprint.
With its Release 7.0, the XOP Networks’ SIP based Digital Collaboration Bridge and Universal Service Node products can now run on VMware and Xen Server based Virtual Machines. Several enhancements to the application software and platform software were made that make these products suitable for operating in a virtual environment.
“Several of our customers have deployed our conferencing products on their Virtual Machines. Typically the software is downloaded from our build FTP sites and installed on the target machines. Using this process we can now build and deploy our systems in hours as opposed to days and weeks that are needed otherwise to ship and install a physical server,” said David Trusty, Chief Technology Officer of XOP Networks.
