For developing the Call Bridge, our goal was to allow users to have quick impromptu meetings without requiring any prior preparation
XOP Networks, Inc., a developer of advanced Audio Conference Bridges, announced today the availability of its new mobile application for group conferencing called ‘Call Bridge’. Available first for Android devices, the app enables users to quickly select multiple people from their Smartphone based address book and join them into a conference with the press of a button. People invited to join then receive a phone call on their mobile or landline phone and upon off-hook join the ongoing conference. The nearly effortless process provides high value whenever a quick meeting is needed with business associates, friends and family or situations that affect personal safety.
Possible example scenarios where the app can have the most impact include:
- Quick Meeting with Business Associates. A senior executive can use the app to reach out to his/her associates for a tiger team meeting.
- Friends and Family get together planning. A hostess can use the app to quickly call her friends and decide on menu for an upcoming get together.
- Personal Emergency Situations. A female college student walking on campus late at night feels unsafe. She can use the app to call friends and campus police simultaneously and get help. In fact, a recent NPR report identified that technology – and particularly smart phones – can help reshape safety efforts on college campuses.
“For developing the Call Bridge, our goal was to allow users to have quick impromptu meetings without requiring any prior preparation that is typical of regular conference calls,” said Sudhir Gupta, CEO for XOP Networks. The possible uses for Call Bridge and end user value are endless,” Gupta added.
The Call Bridge app is simple to download and very easy to use. It is now available for download through the Google play store. People who are alerted through the app to join a call do not need to download the app on their phones.
