Grafton Technologies Deploys XOP Networks’ Emergency Conferencing Solution

We are pleased to be able to assist Grafton Technologies in better serving their customers by using our Universal Service Node platform. A multi-application platform offers better return on CapEx and OpEx to IOCs and CLECs compared to multiple single point solutions

XOP Networks, Inc., a manufacturer of Value Added Service platforms that provide Voice Mail, Mass Notification, Audio Conferencing, Web Conferencing, Video Conferencing, Enhanced Firebar (emergency conferencing) and other applications, announced today that Grafton Technologies Inc., an Independent Telephone Operating Company and Competitive Local Exchange Carrier in Grafton and Jersey Counties in Illinois has deployed XOP Network's Enhanced Firebar and Mass Notification Applications on XOP's Universal Service Node (USN) platform.

Grafton Technologies offers a variety of services to individuals and businesses in Grafton and Jersey counties in Illinois including local and long distance, enhanced calling features, DSL broadband access, VoIP, IPTV, Audio and Web Conferencing and several other services.

"We have been using GTI's Firebar service as part of our emergency management process for quite some time now. We use it specifically to quickly notify our volunteer firemen when we are faced with an emergency situation" said Keith Norman, Jerseyville Fire Department, and Director of Technology for Jersey Community School District.

"The Firebar product from XOP Networks has filled a crucial need in our community. Emergency responders can be contacted immediately regardless of the telephone company or cell phone provider," said Kevin Hamilton, VP, Grafton Technologies, Inc. "XOP Network's USN is deployed on the trunk side of the switch and hence can work with legacy access network as well with next generation IP based broadband loop carrier network. The first responders can receive the emergency calls on their landline phone, cell phone or any other phone, compared to the legacy approach of tethered red phones.

"We are pleased to be able to assist Grafton Technologies in better serving their customers by using our Universal Service Node platform. A multi-application platform offers better return on CapEx and OpEx to IOCs and CLECs compared to multiple single point solutions" and the deployment at GTI is a prime example of that," said Doug Jacob's, VP, Sales and marketing at XOP Networks.

About XOP Networks

Beginning in 2003, XOP Networks embarked on developing a next generation IP based service and application platform. Realizing this vision, it shipped its first product, a Digital Collaboration Bridge (DCB) in 2004. A DCB combines rich Audio Conferencing and Web Conferencing, thus creating a collaborative experience for the end users.

Leveraging the success of the DCB, the product portfolio was expanded in 2005 to include the Group Alerting and Conferencing Server (GACS). The GACS allows mass notification messages to be dispatched over a variety of communications networks, while it brings an organization's brain trust into a quick audio conference. Year 2006 saw the addition of the enhanced Voice Mail Server (VMS) to the product line. In 2007 XOP Networks launched its Universal Service Node (USN) which offers multiple value added services on one platform. Flexibility of our product's architecture allows us to quickly customize our solutions to fit the needs of our customers.

Headquartered in Plano, Texas XOP Networks was founded in 2002 and is backed by a seasoned management team. Deployed at multiple Fortune 100 companies and CLEC/IOC customers, XOP Networks' products allow customers to improve employee productivity, increase business efficiency and promote business continuity. Having both legacy TDM and VoIP interfaces, XOP products allow customers to seamlessly transition their value added services from circuit switched networks to VoIP based packet switched networks.
