Facility Security and Emergency Response Enhanced With XOP Networks’ Second Generation Ringdown Firebar Conference System

XOP Networks, Inc., a manufacturer of Value Added Service platforms and Audio Conference Bridges announces its second generation Ringdown Firebar Conference System (RFCS).

Security and emergency response continues to be a priority item for Utilities, Manufacturing plants, Air Force bases and Government organizations, particularly since the Tellabs 291/292® Firebar systems are no longer supported and are becoming non functional at greater frequency.

XOP Networks’ has deployed numerous RFCSs as replacements for Tellabs 291/292® Firebar systems. With its latest software release several important capabilities have been added to the RFCS platform.

In addition to directly connected analog phones, the RFCS system now also supports digital phones w/station status displays, and SIP based IP Phones equipped with micro-browsers. In addition to launching a voice conference, the initiator of emergency conference can also send short text messages to the phone’s displays.

The RFCS can also support T1/PRI or SIP based TIE trunks to a local PBX/ IP PBX or directly to the PSTN. Hence dial-out emergency calls can be sent to recipients - both on-net and off-net.

“We originally conceived our RFCS as a Tellabs 291/292 replacement product. It not only meets that need, but also provides a number of new capabilities that are in line with the environment in which first responders now operate,” said Sudhir Gupta, CEO of XOP Networks.
